recent work : christina & rowan

Well, it's been a long time between posts here on the blog, thanks to being busier than ever in the studio the last couple of months. Our dear old press has been cranking out impressions at maximum capacity. But the good news is we will have plenty of gorgeous letterpress projects to show you over the coming months.

Here is just one of the many lovely wedding stationery suites we've had the pleasure of working on recently. Christina and Rowan came to us wanting a custom design with a feel of vintage cigar box artwork, with its flourishes, borders and corner fills. The invitation also needed to be bilingual, in both English and French.

And here's the end result, letterpress-printed in Christina and Rowan's wedding colours of sky blue and navy. We printed the invitation in 2 colour letterpress, and the coordinating reply/wishing well card and thank you card in just 1 colour (a great way to keep costs down when printing letterpress). All items are printed on pillowy-soft, 100% cotton stock in ivory, 300gsm.

We love working on custom designs for such delightful couples! Thanks Christina and Rowan for allowing us to be part of your special day, it was such a pleasure x

recent work : melanie & stuart

It's been a busy few weeks in the studio, and as a result we are bit behind in our blogging! But today we thought we'd have a little break to show you a fun custom design that we created a few months ago for one of our lovely wedding couples. Melanie and Stuart are both scientists who wanted a science-themed design for their wedding stationery. Melanie liked the idea of hearts spilling out of a test-tube - so we took her idea and ran with it! The result is a quirky, one-of-a-kind invitation that reflects their personalities and shared love of science. We created a full set of stationery pieces, including invitation, matching personalised mailing labels, rsvp card and thank you card - all digitally printed in cherry red and dove grey onto our soft, ivory stock, and paired with matching ivory envelopes.

Thanks Melanie and Stuart for choosing us for your stationery - this was such a fun design to create. We hope you had an amazing day! x

recent work : katie & christopher

We had so much fun recently, designing and printing these letterpress wedding invitations for Katie and Christopher. They chose a stunning colour palette of sunshine yellow paired with a matte gold for the wording, and we love the end result - so perfect and summery for their February wedding!

Simple, pretty and oh so elegant. If you're wondering, the design is our ever popular Lovebirds, printed in two colour letterpress.

Congratulations Katie and Christopher! It was such a pleasure working on your stationery and we hope it set the scene for the most special of days. x

comfort + style...

Just popping by for a super quick post today, as we are beyond busy here in the studio. But no matter how busy we are, tea-breaks are essential... and on my last one, which may or may not have involved a bit of time on Google Reader catching up on the blogs... ahem... I was waiting for the tea to cool, okay?!... but I just so happened to come across these lovely photos by the very talented Fremantle-based photographer Natasja Kremers (WA brides, lucky you), and couldn't resist sharing them here.

I absolutely love the bride's dress... so simple but such a great silhouette, and so elegant. It also looks really comfortable I think, and despite what some people may tell you, I do think it is important to be comfortable in your wedding dress. Can we not have both comfort and style co-exist happily in a wedding gown? Ladies, I think we can.

Anyway, I digress. Here are some lovely photos, of a lovely dress, and what looks like a very happy couple on their wedding day.

recent work : sarah & anthony

We just received a lovely email from Sarah and Anthony, a couple whose stationery we designed for their November 2011 wedding. We created their 'day of' stationery in our Avignon design, including placecards and order of service booklets, customised to match their wedding colours of chocolate brown and moss green.

Sarah was kind enough to email through these photographs of how it all looked on the day. I love the twine that she's used to bind the booklets together - it adds a great rustic touch and makes a nice alternative to ribbon.

Working with all our brides via email, we rarely get the chance to meet clients in person, so it was lovely also to receive a photo of Sarah and Anthony, and put a face to the name!Congratulations Sarah and Anthony, and thanks for sending through your photos - it made our weekend! x

recent work : sally & michael

A few months ago we had the pleasure of designing this custom letterpress wedding suite for the lovely Sally and Michael. With their ceremony and reception to be held at the gorgeous Terrara House Estate, Sally and Michael wanted a romantic design to suit their spring wedding.

We created a 'birds and blossoms' design, printed in two-colour letterpress for the invitation - a soft rose pink and matte silver - and just one colour (matte silver) for the accommodation insert card and matching reply card, all printed onto ivory cotton paper. Paired with rose pink envelopes, this set is pure romance.

Congratulations Sally and Michael, and thank you for choosing us for your wedding stationery x

recent work : chantel & clement

Recently we had the pleasure of designing Chantel and Clement's wedding invitation - our popular Jardin design, customised to match their wedding colours of lavender and grey. The invitations were flat printed onto our lovely ivory eggshell paper, with ivory cotton envelopes to match. The end result is simple, pretty and romantic.

Congratulations on your marriage Chantel and Clement! We hope you had an amazing day.

effortless

Aren't these dresses by French designer Laure de Sagazan nothing short of lovely? They look so comfortable, and effortlessly elegant at the same time.

another lovely wedding...

...photographed by the supremely talented folks at Bushturkey Studio. The location is 'allegedly' the Byron Bay hinterland... and I say allegedly because you would swear it looks like something straight out of Tuscany. How amazing is that long table and the chandelier?! The flaming bombe alaska is pretty special too. Such simple, rustic elegance is so lovely I think.

lauren bush's wedding dress

I guess it is to be expected when you are marrying Ralph Lauren's son (and your dress is being designed by Ralph Lauren himself), but it still has to be said that Lauren Bush's wedding dress is utterly gorgeous. The top layer is antique tulle hand-embroidered with Swarovski Elements, beads and pearls, and apparently took a mere 100 craftspeople more than 3,000 hours to finish.

That open back with the long sleeves... wow. And the Rocky Mountains setting looks rather gorgeous as well. Images from Vogue.
